On Independence Day

“Our nation is teeming with unemployment, declining GDP, high gini index, poverty, corruption, inequality, dumb ministers, even dumber citizens, neighbours who hate us… the list goes on.

But bruh! we’re still together through all these bullshit. Our country has not split into two after the establishment of the constitution, did not experience a military coup, have an effective military, a functioning economy, a thriving film industry, a culture respected by people worldwide, one of the best minds, the best tastes, world-class sports teams, a space programme, the best healthcare and welfare systems, free education, resilient tax laws, efficient public transportation, a deeply connected road network… the list goes on.

I’m not saying that India is perfect, but it is hard to manage 1.3 billion people and given its a democracy, it is a pretty impressive feat. Criticism and making efficient use of the govt. tools and policies are our responsibility so is improving India. So yes, I’m a proud Indian.”
